9 Principles That Make Our Church Unique

Lives Connected

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Exalting the Savior

I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.

Isaiah 42:8

X-cellence in all things

Bring the best of the first fruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God.

Exodus 23:19

Intentional in our approach

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

Proverbs 21:5

Necessity of prayer

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

Colossians 4:2-4

Genuine worship experience

Yet a time is coming and has now come when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshippers must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:23-24

Teaching that impacts

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12

On Mission

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Romans 10:14-15

Need for fully equipped believers

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

 Statement of Faith

THE BIBLE is God's message to man, recorded without error in the original manuscripts.

GOD exists in three distinct persons who are the same in nature but distinctive in functions: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit-Tri-Unity.

MAN is created in the image of God, yet he is fallen in his sinfulness.

JESUS CHRIST, the eternal Son of God was born of a virgin, literally rose from the dead and ascended to heaven, is undiminished deity and perfect humanity permanently united in one person. It was through His sacrificial death on the cross that He removed once and for all the barrier of sin between God and man.

SALVATION is the unearned gift from God to any man who will receive in dependence the provision that Christ's death is the sufficient and necessary requirement for eternal life.

THE HOLY SPIRIT is a person who permanently indwells every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides every believer with gifts for service and with the fullness of God's power to make him adequate for living. As he acts in dependence upon the Spirit, he will progressively grow into maturity.

THE LOCAL CHURCH is an assembly of believers gathering together in communion with each other to give visible expression of Jesus Christ's body to their community and to stimulate growth in each other's lives.

THE ORDINANCES are to be observed commemorating Christ's works for the church: Baptism and the Lord's Supper. Baptism is practiced by individuals as a symbolic expression of personal identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. The Lord's Supper is practiced corporately as a symbolic reminder of His provision for salvation for the church.

HISTORY is controlled by the sovereign rule of God and will culminate in the establishment of His kingdom upon earth .... A kingdom ruled by His Son and those who have placed their faith in Him.

 LBC's Church Organization

Christ-Centered - Everything at Our Church is geared around our mission to "encourage non-Christians to become Christians and Christians to become more like Christ."

Spirit Led - While we make use of a committee structure to streamline the decision making process, the body, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit and with direction from the Pastoral Staff, ultimately decides together.

Members Involved - Our Church offers a variety of opportunities for its members to get involved in service and church life from lay leaders to volunteers.
