Scott Higginbotham - Senior Pastor

 Scott Higginbotham is learning that Corpus Christi is a lot like his hometown of Amarillo, TX: flat and windy. He holds degrees from Wayland Baptist University (BA, '99) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div, '05).

Scott loves stories of all kinds, so he's an avid reader, an amateur TV/film critic, and a sports junkie.  Most of all, he is enamored with the Story that God is writing with us as a cast of millions!

 Scott and Kiley have been married for a little over a dozen years.  Together, they love to travel, ride rollercoasters, and take care of their little girl.

Becky Jackson - Minister of Music

Becky Jackson served as a pastor’s wife as well as a volunteer church musician and worship leader for twenty-four years before answering a personal call to ministry. When her husband, Doug, became a professor, Becky went back to school and completed a BA in Music from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2010), and an MDiv from Logsdon Seminary (2012). God has given her a passion to worship and to lead others to worship through congregational singing, contemporary praise music, traditional choral music, and contemplative music as well.

Besides studying, Becky enjoys jogging, following Baylor Bear sports teams (it’s much more fun now than it used to be!), and playing the piano, guitar, cello, or drums.

Becky met Doug while she was finishing an Education degree at Baylor and he was attending seminary. The Jacksons have been married almost thirty years now. They have two grown sons, Jay and Landry, and a rescued Bullmastiff named Spurgeon.

Paul and Samantha Bowden 

Interim Youth Directors

Paul Bowden is a recent graduate of Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. He is from Yoakum, TX (a small town about 30 minutes north of Victoria), but he has lived in Corpus Christi for about 7 years. He enjoys Si-Fi movies and video games, playing guitar and drums, and when he can find the time, he also dabbles in film making and editing. Paul also holds a part time job as a computer repair agent for the local Best Buy Geek Squad.

Samantha Bowden is in her third year of undergraduate studies in Psychology at TAMUCC, with plans of becoming a children’s counselor after graduation. Samantha moved to Corpus Christi from New Braunfels for college in 2010. 

 The couple met while serving together at the local BSM, and was married in July of 2012. They feel very strongly that God has called them to continue serving in ministry together, and are very exited for the opportunity to minister to the youth of Corpus Christi through Lexington Baptist Church.

Sherry has been a member and serving at Lexington since 1998.  Sherry believes God has led her to this position so that He might use her abilities to reach people for Christ's glory.  She is married to Tommy Stephens and has three wonderful children.
